Two very busy days

On Saturday May 18 and Sunday May 19, the entire C.I.EAU team was on hand for Laval’s major event, Les Journées Lire et Découvrir, simultaneously with the great Bibliovente, at Place Bell.

The two-day event, which was entirely free of charge, was organized by Tournée éducative along with a number of partners and collaborators. Kevin Raphael was the spokesperson for these days to motivate young people to open a book and take an interest in culture, including scientific culture!

Three dynamic animations were offered to over 1,000 participants of all ages.

As a bonus, we presented the model (on loan from the Yamaska watershed organization) for the Bassin Renversant animation, to help youngsters make the links between climate change and the water cycle! Participants were then informed about the Deviens un Superéco contest with GénérationAction (a show will be held on May 31 at the winning school).

Then it was on to Connect eau, our famous drinking water pipe puzzle game. A staple at our kiosks.

Finally, virtual reality was once again all the rage as families lined up to discover the incredible world of our drinking water production plants!

Teamwork

C.I.EAU was able to count on the participation of several volunteers. Our team would like to extend its warmest thanks to all those who lent a hand to help us raise awareness in such a cheerful atmosphere!

The team also highlights the organization of the Journées Lire et Découvrir, a resounding success that we hope will be repeated next year!

A drive to raise public awareness

C.I.EAU is on a water awareness kick with Water Month fast approaching, but before that, we’re off to the big science party: the Eureka! festival. Our science popularizer Benoit Chevrier will be presenting C.I.EAU’s very first interactive show : En Eaux Troubles! for those who don’t mind getting wet. The festival is free of charge and promises to be a real treat for science buffs!

Our watershed animation will also be presented in the kiosk for those who haven’t yet discovered it.
