Saturday, August 12 marked the first edition of Welcome to Eauville! For the occasion, C.I.EAU organized a day full of water-related activities.
This special day was dedicated to the celebration of water in all its forms. At the heart of the action, the village of Eauville welcomed participants from 10 a.m. onwards. The wide-ranging program attracted a large number of participants, with treasure hunts, science kiosks and special activities. C.I.EAU would like to thank the thousand or so participants.
Characters such as Professor Hydraulix, the Mona butterfly, the Chipotle caterpillar, the singing Carols and the juggling bees enchanted young and old alike throughout the festive day. C.I.EAU’s scientific activities were also organized near the riverbanks, while excerpts from the museum’s successful animations were presented in the kiosk. A street food truck was on hand to satisfy the cravings of Eauvillois, while lunch was offered free of charge to participants in the treasure hunts.
A family event
Families had a great adventure with the “Balbuzard” walk in the company of blogger “Maman sur mesure”. The huge fire truck turned heads at the entrance to the village, while the youngest enjoyed the talent of the frivolous make-up artist, as well as the puppet show and the clown Plouf! The little ones weren’t forgotten either, with the “Fantastik’eau” course, where two certificates for a bicycle were drawn. C.I.EAU would like to thank Bob Cyclo for the loan of the bikes used on the courses!
Teens put to the test!
In the afternoon, teenagers had the chance to take on challenges under the sun and answer questions related to water technology for the “Hirondelle” trail, accompanied by influencers Emy Lalune and Marc-Antoine Delage. The group ended the adventure with a prize draw reserved for participants in the final treasure hunt enigma.
A new exhibition preview
Throughout the day, visitors had the opportunity to preview C.I.EAU’s new temporary exhibition: A History of Water Quality and visit a virtual reality drinking water station in the C.I.EAU museum. The temporary multimedia exhibition is still available at the museum for $5 admission, or $10 with a regular visit to the permanent exhibition and laboratory activities.
The festivities ended on a high note in the village, as the Perseid evening program was cancelled due to weather conditions. The planned conference on water and space will be announced at a later date at the Musée de l’Eau.
The Swallow and Osprey routes are still available
The Swallow and Osprey trails continue! Participants must find the QR codes in the routes, which now start opposite the C.I.EAU and end in the same area. Prizes to be won will be drawn soon! Try your luck!
The Bienvenue à Eauville project was made possible thanks to the regional support component of the Fonds régions et ruralité of the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation.
