Participants are invited to become budding biologists on a bugs hunt to determine the health of the Rivière des Mille Îles. During this activity, participants will be asked to capture insects on the Berge des Baigneurs. They will then head to the C.I.EAU Lab’eau to identify them using a microscope and an identification guide. Once the results have been compiled, they will need to establish their degree of sensitivity to pollution and determine the river’s water quality.
After identification, the insects are returned to the river alive.
The activity takes place from early May to October, Monday to Friday. Since participants go into the river to find their bugs, we can’t offer this activity all year round. The activity lasts 2 hours 30 minutes. The activity takes place at the C.I.EAU.
The activity has been designed for a class of 30 students.
