The Centre d’interprétation de l’eau (C.I.EAU) is delighted to announce its brand new immersive temporary exhibition, integrating digital art, education and science to help visitors discover the urban water cycle.
A sensory immersion in the path of a drop of water
Through this captivating projection, young and old are invited to plunge into a contemplative journey following a drop of water, from its birth in nature to its return to the river, after having passed through all the human infrastructures that enable its treatment and consumption. The immersive dome projects a visual narrative showing how water is drawn from the river, transported to the drinking water production plant, consumed in our homes, schools and hospitals, then directed to the wastewater treatment plant, before returning, purified, to its natural environment.
This animation provides a concrete visualization of the often invisible stages involved in water management in an urban context. Using a combination of real-life shots and poetic digital creations, the experience raises awareness of the value of water and the importance of the infrastructures that make it accessible and safe.
Artistic and educational creation at the heart of our mission
The Rivière Rivière screening is the work of a collective of digital artists who combine artistic creativity with an educational mission: Antoine Desrochers-Godin, Zakary Colello, Wiliam Bonneterre, Zachary L’Heureux. Narrator: Michael Kelly
A teacher’s guide accompanies the screening, enabling learning to continue after the visit. The guide, designed to meet the needs of secondary school teachers, is particularly well-suited to students in Grades 3 to 5, and focuses on the discoverability of water-related professions, a fast-growing sector that plays a crucial role in the future of our communities. The teaching guide was designed in collaboration with education and environmental experts, including Cégep Saint-Laurent and the Center des technologies de l’eau (CTEAU)to accurately reflect the technical and scientific realities of water management in Quebec.

A project rooted in the community
The Rivière Rivière project is being carried out thanks to the financial participation of the City of Laval and the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation, as part of the Fonds régions et ruralité’s support for the local and regional development skills of RCMs.
It is fully in line with C.I.EAU’s mission to promote understanding of water-related issues and raise collective awareness of sustainable water management.

- To provide teachers with concrete resources for tackling topics such as water management, sustainable development and careers in the sector;
- To help educate future generations about the importance of preserving our aquatic ecosystems.
See you soon!
