Chasse aux bibittes aquatiques
Description
Participants are invited to become budding biologists through a bug hunt to determine the health of the Mille Îles River. During this activity, participants will be asked to capture insects on the Berge des Baigneurs. Then, they will go to the C.I.EAU’s AquaLab to identify them using a microscope and an identification guide. Once the results are compiled, they will have to establish the degree of vulnerability to pollution and determine the quality of the water in the river.
After identification, the insects will be returned, alive, to the river
Schedule and Duration
The activity takes place from the beginning of May to October from Monday to Friday. Since the participants go to the river to find their bugs, we cannot offer this activity all year round. The activity lasts 2 1/2 hours. The activity takes place at the C.I.EAU.
Capacity
The activity was designed for a class of 30 students.
